Get to know Diagnostic Radiologist Dr. Anupama Shultz, who serves patients in Texas.
Dr. Shultz is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist and fellowship-trained breast imaging specialist. She serves as the Operations Director for Rose Imaging Specialists, and as the lead interpreting physician at Solis Mammography Sugar Land.
Prior to joining Rose Imaging Specialists in 2011, she was in private practice. She feels privileged to join this group of esteemed colleagues that shares a passion for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer.
With more than 35 board-certified radiologists, Rose Imaging Specialists is the largest breast-specific imaging group in the United States. The radiologists provide breast imaging services to some of the finest outpatient imaging centers in Texas, Ohio, and Arizona: Solis Mammography, TOPS Comprehensive Breast Care Centers, and Austin Breast Imaging. Each center is staffed with certified technologists and highly trained support teams.
Solis Mammography Sugar Land is dedicated to providing peace of mind during the entire mammography or imaging experience. The compassionate staff creates a warm and welcoming environment in order to ease the anxiety often associated with getting a mammogram. They are highly trained clinically, but are also trained in the art of putting patients at ease.
A 2001 honors graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Shultz was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor’s Society and recipient of the American Medical Women’s Association Janet M. Glasgow Achievement Citation. She then went on to complete her residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas in 2006, followed by a breast imaging fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology/Washington University School of Medicine in 2007.
Following her training, she attained board certification in diagnostic radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Shultz is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Texas Radiological Society, the Texas Medical Association, the Society of Breast Imaging, the American Association of Physician Leadership, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In addition, she is a member of both the Women in Medicine Section and the Physician Wellness Steering Committee for the Harris County Medical Society.
A contributing author of publications in myeloma and breast cancer research, Dr. Shultz has a special interest in physician wellness, physician leadership, and female physician advocacy.
Diagnostic radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A diagnostic radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Shultz loves to travel, read, and spend time with her husband and four children while being an advocate for the Global Leadership Network.
