Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Irinel Stanciu. 

A determined endocrinologist, Dr. Stanciu works as a metabolic bone disease specialist at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center.

A native of Romania, Dr. Stanciu graduated with her medical degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1991, and completed her residency in general medicine at the Fundeni Clinical Hospital in 1997. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Cook County Hospital in 2000. Finally, she completed her fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the Loyola University Medical Center - Stritch School of Medicine in 2002.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE), the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Continuously advancing her efforts, she is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and the Endocrine Society.

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.
