Back in 1989, Dr. Skie graduated with his medical degree from The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He then went on to perform his residency in orthopaedic surgery at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, followed by his fellowship in hand surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Affiliated Hospitals.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in orthopaedic surgery and surgery of the hand through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
Licensed to practice medicine in Ohio, Dr. Skie is affiliated with ProMedica Physicians Defiance Orthopaedic Center, ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital, ProMedica Toledo Hospital, Fulton County Health Center, and Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center.
As for his faculty appointment, he serves as a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences.
