A caring and compassionate pediatric nephrologist, Dr. Neiberger is affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. He works with children of all ages, and specializes in all areas of pediatric nephrology.

UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is a hospital within a hospital on the UF Health Shands campus and provides care in more than 20 pediatric specialties. It provides care for the children of the community and the state of Florida and is a major destination center for pediatric patients from all over the United States and overseas who require specialized attention for complex medical problems.

Academically, Dr. Neiberger earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1982. He completed his internship at the Albert Einstein Montefiore Medical Center, followed by a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center in 1984 and 1988, respectively.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Texas, Dr. Neiberger is affiliated with the Geisinger Medical Center, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, UF Health Shands Hospital, University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital, and Rainbow Babies And Children’s Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, while nephrology is the subspecialty of internal medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the kidney. Pediatric nephrologists diagnose, treat, and manage many disorders affecting the kidney and urinary tract, including kidney failure, high blood pressure, inherited kidney diseases, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and abnormalities in the urine such as blood and protein.
