Get to know Sleep Medicine Specialist David B. Pitts, MD, who serves patients in Suwanee, Georgia

Dr. Pitts is a board-certified sleep medicine specialist and ENT physician who sees patients at Johns Creek Dental in Suwanee, Georgia. Dr. Pitts is licensed to practice in Georgia, Indiana, and California. He feels that his success is attributable to his hard work and a desire to serve others. Dr. Pitts dedicates his time outside his professional commitments to his passion for drone videography.

A 1983-graduate of the University of Texas Medical School, Dr. Pitts completed his internship at Oregon Health & Science University (1983-1984). He then went on to conduct his internal medicine residency at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center (1984-1985), followed by his otolaryngology residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center (1985-1988). He remains a professional member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Pitts received board certification in otolaryngology and sleep medicine from the American Board of Otolaryngology. The American Board of Otolaryngology is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships, and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.

Otolaryngology is a medical specialty which is focused on the ears, nose, and throat. It is also called otolaryngology-head and neck surgery because specialists are trained in both medicine and surgery. An otolaryngologist is often called an ear, nose, and throat doctor, or an ENT for short.

Sleep medicine is a medical specialty or subspecialty devoted to the diagnosis and therapy of sleep disturbances and disorders. From the middle of the 20th century, research has provided increasing knowledge and answered many questions about sleep-wake functioning.
