Get to know Family Physician Dr. Luz A. Lopez, who serves patients in Arizona.

Recognized as a top family physician, Dr. Lopez loves to teach and educate both children and families. In addition to her affiliation with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, she is the CEO of Kids Kare Pediatrics & Family Kare with offices in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona.

Being one of the largest pediatric practices in the Valley of the Sun, Kids Kare Pediatrics & Family Kare consists of a group of healthcare providers who specialize in the care of infants, children, teenagers, and adults, as well as the treatment of their diseases. This care includes routine well child checkups, including developmental, hearing and visual screening, immunization, lab test, and sick visits. With the provision of patient-centered care as their primary commitment, their mission is to provide individualized care to patients by responding to their particular needs in a warm secure and encouraging environment.

After graduating with her medical degree from the University of Montemorelos in Mexico in August of 1992, Dr. Lopez relocated to the United States to complete her residency in family medicine at Phoenix Baptist Family Medicine Center (at Phoenix Baptist Hospital) in Texas in 2004.

For the purpose of advancing her professional development, she became board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

To date, the doctor remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Society for Public Administration.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
