Specializing in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery, Dr. Ford is the only orthopaedic surgeon in Pocatello offering hip arthroscopy to treat femoral acetabular impingement. He operates at various locations, including Portnuef Medical Center, Skyline Surgery Center, and Portneuf Sports Medicine Institute.

The doctor’s journey into medicine began after he obtained his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He then served his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in sports medicine at Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver. There, he worked with The Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, helping to care for the players.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, Dr. Ford has trained in direct anterior total hip replacement surgery with experts at Dartmouth, in Denver, Colorado & in Paris, France; and was the first to offer this procedure in Pocatello.  

He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Ford is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
