Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Wilshire graduated with his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, and his fellowship at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, he is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

On a professional level, Dr. Wilshire is a proud member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and the Nutrition & Metabolism Society. He is also the former President of the Boone County Medical Society.

In addition to seeing patients at Missouri Fertility, he is the Medical Director of ERBLAN Surgical, Inc., the Founder of Carbohydrate Awareness Council (CarbAware), and is on the Review Board of the Nutrition & Metabolism Journal, and the Nutrition Journal.

Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to the reproduction, as well as the issue of infertility. While most REI specialists primarily focus on the treatment of infertility, reproductive endocrinologists are trained to also evaluate and treat hormonal dysfunctions in females and males after the reproductive years.
