He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Colorado in Denver, followed by a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He also performed a fellowship in pain management within the Department of Anesthesiology at Ohio State Pain Control Center.
Recognized for his clinical expertise, Dr. McDowell II’s research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and he has authored book chapters regarding urology and anesthesiology. He is also certified as a Patient Safety Officer by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
