Get to know Internist Dr. Alan Glaser, who serves patients in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts.

Building on his long-standing reputation for providing high-quality care in the Boston area, Dr. Glaser offers an individualized approach to wellness for his patients at Wellesley Primary Care Medicine, PC, in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. His membership medicine offering, with a smaller patient panel and direct availability to Dr. Glaser 24/7, represents a unique opportunity to offer the type of care he has long considered essential.

“It’s vital to go well beyond a patient’s immediate symptoms and consider every factor – psychological, social, emotional – underlying their condition. At my practice, there is time for patients to share their whole story, which allows us to explore the root cause of their illness. Only then can the real healing process begin,” explains Dr. Glaser.

After hours, patients can reach him directly on his cell phone and receive immediate guidance, a benefit shown to significantly reduce the need to visit the emergency room or be admitted to the hospital.

“One of the best parts of being a concierge doctor is getting to know my patients on a much deeper level, just as I would a family member or friend. There is nothing more important than providing care and comfort to my patients when they are ill, afraid and want to see me urgently,” says Dr. Glaser.

The patient experience at Dr. Glaser’s concierge practice is very different from that of  a traditional one, with benefits that include individualized plans for long-term health and wellness, in-depth visits with no waiting, extended physicals, and same-day appointments when ill.

Long-time patient and Framingham resident RB was among the first to join Dr. Glaser’s concierge practice, describing him as “an outstanding diagnostician who listens carefully and respectfully to my concerns. He has earned my complete confidence and trust in all health matters and decisions.”  Says Newton resident JW: “Dr. Glaser is that rare breed of physician who marries exceptional diagnostic skills with genuine warmth and compassion.”

For Dr. Glaser, his patients’ sentiments underscore his motivation for making the practice change. “Their commitment and loyalty deserve equal dedication and attention from me. Taking all the time needed during each patient visit to understand what’s keeping them up at night, answer every question thoughtfully and most importantly, really listen, is the most vital part of care. I can’t make that happen in a traditional practice, and it’s why I chose concierge medicine,” he affirms.

A firm believer in preventative medicine, Dr. Glaser commits his undivided and focused attention to every one of his patients to determine the optimal course in preventing disease and injury, rather than simply treating their symptoms. Because he understands that it is sometimes difficult for patients to balance health commitments with work and other engagements, he sees his first patient at 6:00 AM every day.

After graduating from Brandeis University, Dr. Glaser earned his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine in 1994. In 2019, he worked with Specialdocs Consultants to establish a concierge offering at Wellesley Primary Care Medicine.

“It is a great privilege to welcome Dr. Glaser to our expanding network of remarkable concierge physicians nationwide,” says Specialdocs CEO Terry Bauer. “He is deeply committed to transforming his patients’ experience by offering this model’s extraordinarily personalized approach to care.”

With over two decades of experience in his field, Dr. Glaser is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. An acute listener and a brilliant diagnostician, Dr. Glaser has built a reputation as a world-class physician. His prominence has influenced facilities like the Beaumont Rehabilitation Center of Natick, Wingate Needham, Timothy Daniels House, Briarwood Rehabilitation, Clark House at Fox Hill, and Care One Healthcare of Newton to appoint him as their Medical Director.
