Get to know Neurologist        Dr. Intazam Khan, who serves patients in Astoria, New York.

Recognized as a thriving neurologist, Dr. Khan is the Founder of Progressive Neurology PC in Astoria, New York. He is dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality care for neurological diseases on an as-needed or preventative basis. Such neurological diseases include diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. He also tends to those with issues such as stroke, epilepsy, headaches, dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other various forms of pain.

In addition to managing a flourishing private practice, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is also affiliated with Quest Medical Center, The Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Queens, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, and NYU Winthrop Hospital.

A 1987 graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India, Dr. Khan decided to further his education in the United States. Once there, he performed his internship in internal medicine at Queens Hospital Center, followed by his residency in neurology with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Having dedicated over three decades of his life to delivering compassionate care, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists. 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
