Dr. William B Rosenblatt MD's Expert Contributions
  • How long after liposuction will I see results?

If you have large lumps and bumps removed you see that they are gone shortly after surgery. Three months for all of the fine details to be seen. READ MORE

  • How painful is a nose job recovery?

Regarding pain after a rhinoplasty, most of my patients take nothing other than Tylenol. It is uncomfortable and the iced compresses take care of most of the discomfort. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • What is the fastest way to recover from a septoplasty?

Ask the physician who is going to do your surgery. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • Is it easier to lose weight after liposuction?

No - - it is never easy to lose weight --- and lipo is not for weight loss READ MORE

  • Which is better tummy tuck or liposuction?

You need to be seen to know what you need. Neither is better, they are for different problems. If you had children or lost weight, usually a tummy tuck is needed because of excess skin. Lipo removes love handles or a poochy stomach -- in either case they do not replace diet and exercise for obesity. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • Can you get a rhinoplasty twice?

If you are unhappy with the result of the primary rhinoplasty, you need to talk to an experienced plastic surgeon and go over the changes you would like to make. If you both agree, then a revision can be performed. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How much can they remove with liposuction?

Liposuction is not for weight loss, at the most, we can remove 5 liters of fat, which is only 10 or so pounds. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How long does tightness last after a neck lift?

That question is impossible to answer --- depends on how loose you are and what sort of surgery is done. The result can last years, but it will start to loosen up after 3-6 months. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • Can you tighten loose skin on arms?

To tighten skin on arms, you need a brachioplasty. There is an incision which does leave a visible scar, but it is on the back or inside of the arm and it tightens the skin. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • Does fat come back after lipo?

You can always gain weight after lipo. Once the fat is removed, fat will be deposited somewhere. Let's say you have fat removed from your tummy --- that fat was between the muscle and skin -- if you gain weight, fat may then be deposited around your intestine, or butt or breasts. It will have to go somewhere. Where you had the fat removed, it should not come back, but liposuction does not stop someone from overeating and gaining weight. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How long does a nose job last?

A rhinoplasty lasts forever. As you age, your nose may droop a bit -- but it is a permanent change and should not need to be redone as you get older. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How long after blepharoplasty do you see results?

It depends on how much swelling you have. For the upper lids, if you had a lot of hooding, you see an improvement almost the next day. For lower bags, it takes about a week. Within one to two weeks, you should see quite an improvement. If you had a lot of black and blue, that may take 3 weeks to resolve. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • What are the risks of a nose job?

If you are an appropriate candidate and have reasonable expectations, the risks are few and rare. You will have some swelling and black and blue and little bleeding, the pain in minimal. Go for a consultation and make sure the surgeon goes over all of them. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How many laser sessions does it take to remove stretch marks?

Bad news, lasers do not remove stretch marks. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • What is the recovery time for ear lobe surgery?

Local anesthesia, back to work that day, sutures out about a week. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • Can under eye bags be removed?

Under eye bags can be easily removed. It is a lower lid belpharoplasty and there is often no scar as it is done through the inside of the lid. You need to be seen first to know if it is the proper procedure. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • What is the best age for face lift?

There is no specific age --- I am a realist. At your examination, I would see what can be done and what you don't like, then, if there is agreement, you could be a candidate for a face lift. The next issue is cost; you need to be able to afford it. Sometimes young people are candidates and sometimes older ones are. I have done 35-year-olds and 85-year-olds and all in between. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • Do nose jobs hurt for weeks?

Our patients experience little to no pain. Usually, Tylenol is all that is needed along with iced compresses. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How long does it take to recover from eye plastic surgery?

The recovery is dependent on what you have done and who does it. At your consultation, speak to the surgeon. My patients may recover faster than someone else's. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE

  • How do you get rid of stretch marks?

There is no good way to get rid of stretch marks. If they are between the belly button and pubis, then a tummy tuck will cut them out. Others ---you are stuck with. The derms may say that they have lasers to remove them -- but they don't work well. Also, creams are useless. William B. Rosenblatt, M.D. READ MORE
