Dr. Wood is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist and a fertility specialist who is currently serving patients at IVFMD in Cooper City and Miami, Florida. Dr. Wood is also affiliated with Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Memorial Hospital West offers an extensive array of innovative, high-quality health care services, including one of the busiest adult emergency care departments in Broward County and a separate family-focused children’s emergency care department.
Dr. Wood is a Voluntary Assistant Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine and at Florida International University School of Medicine. She has served as a Clinical Board Examiner for the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 2011. She also holds a preceptor role at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, in addition to being the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Site Director for the OB-GYN Residency Program at Community Health of South Florida.
Before joining IVFMD, Dr. Wood served as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and as the Director of Academic Services at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wood has published numerous articles and has co-authored multiple book chapters. She has also presented her research at both national and international meetings. Her major research interests include in vitro fertilization, congenital uterine anomalies, and advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical techniques.
Dr. Wood completed her medical training and residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to complete her clinical and research fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at The Pennsylvania Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She received the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society Fellow Research Award in both 1998 and 1999.
Dr. Wood is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that board certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNS) and offers continuing certification to OB-GYNS in the United States and Canada. Board certification is a voluntary process for those physicians who choose to pursue certification.
Dr. Wood is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Fertility specialists, like Dr. Wood, focus on diagnosing and treating male and female infertility. These doctors have completed four years of medical school and at least four years of residency training in obstetrics/gynecology or urology. Dr. Wood is a mother of two daughters. She enjoys water sports and is an avid water skier and wakeboarder. She has completed six full marathons, as well as over 25 half marathons.
