Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. El-Sherief received his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine in 2006, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the LAC+USC Medical Center in 2009, where he served on the Educational Steering Committee.
Subsequently, he went on to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at UCSF Fresno in 2012, serving as Chief Fellow. Finally, he completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the same educational venue in 2014.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease , interventional cardiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Happily married, he and his wife have three beautiful children. When he is not tending to his patients, he enjoys watching soccer. Speaking several languages, he is fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
