Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Ghulam Mujtaba, who serves patients in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Mujtaba is affiliated with Digestive Disease Specialists, seeing patients in Las Vegas, Nevada. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the conditions of the digestive tract, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. He can also be found on staff at Sunrise Hospital and Mountain View Hospital.

Obtaining his undergraduate degree from the Government College, he earned his medical degree from the Nishtar Medical College in 1999. After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in 2007 and 2011, respectively. He has also completed a special training in liver diseases at the Columbia University Medical Center.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Mujtaba was chosen for the Sheba Warman Award as ‘the best intern of the year’ in 2005. He was presented the Chairman’s Award after his 3rd year of residency training, and was selected as the Chief Resident. He has also received the Exceptional Leadership Award in 2008.

Happily married, he and his wife have three daughters. He enjoys playing soccer, golf and cricket in his leisure time.
