Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Fiel is a Professor of Pathology, Molecular and Cell Based Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
A Philippine native, she graduated with her medical degree from the University of the East and completed two residencies in internal medicine at the Ormoc District Hospital and at OSPA Farmers Medical Center. After relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her residency in pathology and her fellowships in gastrointestinal pathology and cytopathology at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
A Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD), the doctor is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology & cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.
