  • Can you help with elbow pain?

Yes absolutely! Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture especially do wonders for pain management! READ MORE

  • How long does it take for acupuncture to work for back pain?

Acupuncture will work for chronic back pain, however it will take time. We would have to assess your specific back pain issue. I would ask you about any health history regarding your back pain and when it began. I would also ask for imaging (MRI, XRay etc) to rule out other factors that may be contributing to your back pain. At our clinic we offer comprehensive programs that include Nutrition, Acupuncture (Chinese Medicine), Herbal Therapy and Functional Medicine for our most chronic conditions. Every person is different and we have to determine it with a consult. READ MORE

Jayne is a nationally board-certified licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and Functional Medicine practitioner.

In November of 2011, she founded Lotus Acupuncture & Holistic Health Clinic in Virginia Beach, Virginia with a desire to provide the best comprehensive and quality health care available in Hampton Roads. She has also been serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Genesis Botanical Formulas since November of 2020.

Lotus Acupuncture & Holistic Health Clinic is an alternative healthcare clinic providing services to clients in the Hampton Roads metro area. With recent developments in the healthcare industry both locally and nationally, the Clinic is poised to take advantage of the growing interest and demand for alternative medicine services. It provides its patients with a balanced perspective between conventional medical paradigm and the rapidly growing alternative medical field.

Drawing from her personal and professional experience, Jayne combines oriental medicine, herbal therapy with applied kinesiology, nutrition, lifestyle counseling, exercise, spiritual healing, and meditation.

She is passionate about her patients’ health and wellness, which shows in her commitment, compassion, discipline and love; a force which drives her to find solutions to their problems. Her loyal commitment to educating her patients empowers and enables them to transform their health, thus allowing them to make healthy choices in their lives and make a difference in the lives of the people THEY touch.

Throughout her academic career, Jayne attended Indiana University Bloomington where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Dance and a Minor in History. She then received a second Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, and became Manager of Technology at Turner Classic Movies Network, Turner Broadcasting. While at Turner, she obtained her Master of Business Administration degree.

During her corporate career, Jayne was diagnosed with cancer. She turned to acupuncture/oriental medicine and nutritional response testing to heal her body and spirit. Through her healers, she discovered natural ways of healing, the world of alternative medicine, nutrition, and a renewed sense of spirituality. With a strong will to live, she worked hard to turn her destiny around. She integrated Eastern and Western Medicine with nutrition, meditation, spirituality, counseling and lifestyle changes to beat cancer, which she successfully did.

Inspired by her journey and her team of wonderful healers, Jayne knew she wanted to pay it forward and help others who were dealing with health challenges. She meditated and prayed, asking the Universe to guide her. Her Higher-Self guided her to Acupuncture school.

In Sarasota, Florida, she attended East West College of Natural Medicine and received her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She interned and worked at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital as an acupuncturist, working on closed head trauma, stroke, and hip and knee replacement patients. After graduation, she moved back to Virginia to bring her knowledge to Hampton Roads.

Thereafter, Jayne furthered her education and attended Five Branches University in San Jose, California. She received her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM), specializing both in Women’s Health and Endocrinology and Neuromuscular Medicine and Pain Management. Her Doctorate capstone was written on “The Efficacy of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS): Two Case Studies.”

A Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Jayne is certified in Advanced Clinical Training of Nutrition Response Testing awarded by Ulan Nutritional Systems, Inc. She is also certified in Auricular Medicine, External Taoist QiGong Healing, Hypnotherapy and Acupoint Injection Therapy, and BioEnergetix Homeopathy.

As a cancer survivor, she deeply understands the continuing journey patients must travel to heal their physical, emotional and spiritual being.

Acupuncture is a form of holistic medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate particular regions of the body. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of physical and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain, digestive disorders, and infertility.

On a more personal note, Dr. Dabu is happily married.
