Known for his jovial and professional manner, Dr Tran is a practicing nephrologist at Kidney Associates of the Tristate, LLC in Florence, Kentucky. He is well-liked by his patients, and works alongside Dr. Rafi.
Both Dr. Tran and Dr. Rafi have been serving the tri-state region -Northern Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana since 2012 and 2014, respectively. They began their small duo practice in May of 2020, with the desire to serve their patients in a personal way, taking time to know each patient well.

After graduating with his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Dr. Tran completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the same educational venue. During his time in Lexington, he was assistant professor at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and an attendant in internal medicine/nephrology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and VA Medical Center.
In 2012, he decided to return to the Northern Kentucky area, where he grew up. He worked for St. Elizabeth Healthcare before finally starting private practice with Dr. Rafi. The doctor-duo also see patients at all the St. Elizabeth Hospitals- Edgewood, Florence, and Fort Thomas, as well as Encompass, Gateway, and Select Rehabilitation Hospitals.
A highly respected member of the American Society of Nephrology and in Greater Cincinnati, Dr. Tran is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease.
