Get to know Pediatric Emergency Physician Dr. Steven L. Lanski, who serves patients in El Paso, Texas.

Dr. Lanski, a fellowship-trained pediatric emergency physician, is currently the Medical Director of the Pediatric Emergency Department at The Hospitals of Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas.

The Hospitals of Providence Children’s Hospital contains 148 beds and is committed to quality through teamwork, technology, and service in a child friendly, family oriented environment. Its mission is to provide quality pediatric services in a caring, progressive environment.

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Dr. Lanski is affiliated with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus, and Bluff Creek Emergency Medicine Associates – Emergency Medicine.

His acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1996. He then went on to serve his residency in pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in 1999, and his fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University in 2002.

With years of experience, Dr. Lanski is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. A pediatric emergency physician is a specialist in the care of children and teens who are acutely ill or injured. They are trained to care for a wide range of problems that require immediate medical help. These problems are often serious and may be life-threatening.
