Get to know Neurologist Dr. Rohit Marawar, who serves patients in Detroit, Michigan.

A top professional in the field of neurology, Dr. Marawar directs the weekly Geriatric Epilepsy clinic at Detroit Medical Center. His areas of interest include epilepsy in elderly, epilepsy in dementia, psychosocial comorbidities in epilepsy, outcomes in epilepsy and optimal access to epilepsy care.

Obtaining his medical degree from the Government Medical College in India, Dr. Marawar completed his residency in neurology at Albany Medical Center, and went on to complete a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at the University of California, Los Angeles.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Among his other roles, he can be found on staff at DMC Rehabilitation Institute Of Michigan, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, and DMC Hutzel Women's Hospital.

As for his academic appointments, Dr. Marawar serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Director of the Epilepsy Fellowship Training Program at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients.
