Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Caitlin Carney, who serves patients in Massachusetts. 

Dr. Carney is a board-certified dermatologist with Northeast Dermatology Associates. She operates out of the offices in Newburyport and Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Born and raised in Vermont, Dr. Carney attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York for her undergraduate degree and returned to Vermont to attend the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont where she earned top honors and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her intern year at University of California, San Diego. Her residency training in dermatology and 1-year research fellowship was completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

Working with integrity and passion, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Licensed to practice medicine in Alabama and Massahusetts, Dr. Carney is affiliated with Anna Jaques Hospital.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, which is the largest organ of the body. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist who manages skin diseases and addresses both internal and external causes, including cosmetic concerns, involving the skin. Successful in her field, Dr. Carney has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented at national meetings. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 3 children.
