Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Matthew G. McClellan, who serves patients throughout the State of Pennsylvania.
Being a dual board-certified emergency physician, Dr. McClellan examines patients, determines means of testing, diagnoses conditions and performs the best medical and procedural treatment methods needed for acute, urgent, trauma and emergency medical conditions for patients of all ages: adult, geriatric, pediatric and neonatal. At present, he is affiliated with TEAMHealth, Inc. through his own company that he founded known as MGMc Emergency Medical Associates, LLC working for critical access hospitals in rural underserved areas of the east coast.
Practicing the full spectrum of emergency medicine, he previously was associated with UPMC Pinnacle and saw patients at: Emergency Department of UPMC Carlisle, Emergency Department of UPMC Hanover, Emergency Department of UPMC Memorial, Emergency Department of UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg, and Emergency Department of UPMC Pinnacle West Shore.
UPMC Emergency Department provides care and treatment for acute and non-acute injuries and illnesses. The Emergency Department physicians specialize in emergency medicine. The Emergency Department nurses have advanced cardiac life support certification and many are certified emergency nurses with pediatric advanced life support certification.
Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011, Dr. McClellan went on to perform an internship at St. Francis Hospital followed by his residencies at Lower Bucks Hospital and Hackensack University Medical Center – GME. He also completed a fellowship in emergency medicine at Wheeling Hospital in 2016, a Level 2 Trauma center.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Association of Physician Specialists, the American Association of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Maximizing his professional development, Dr. McClellan is board-certified in emergency medicine through the American Board of Physician Specialties, a nationally recognized multi-specialty certifying body that offers both allopathic and osteopathic physicians certification in a range of specialties.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in family medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
