During her fellowship in malignant melanoma at New York University, she conducted research in the area of skin cancer, after which she authored and co-authored several important papers on the topic.

Teaching surgery to dermatology residents, Dr. Abadir is a staff member in the Dermatology department of Albert Einstein Medical College.
