After receiving her medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate, she completed her internship at New York University and fulfilled her residency training in dermatology and dermatologic surgery at Albert Einstein Medical College. During her fellowship in malignant melanoma at New York University, she conducted research in the area of skin cancer, after which she authored and co-authored several important papers on the topic.
Teaching surgery to dermatology residents, Dr. Abadir is a staff member in the Dermatology department of Albert Einstein Medical College.
In addition to being an active member of many medical associations, including the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society of Liposuction Surgery, Dr. Abadir volunteers at different locations to conduct skin cancer screenings and raise public awareness about skin cancer prevention.
