He then went on to complete his residency and fellowship at Indiana University. He also holds a Doctorate degree in Neuroanatomy from the same educational venue.
Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in child neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists. He also attained membership status with the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Child Neurology Society.
In celebration of his clinical experience, Dr. Lacey has been honored with several awards and recognitions throughout the years, including the Professional Advocacy Award at the annual meeting of the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio in 2002, the Dayton Children’s Hospital Alan Shaffer, MD Award in 201), and the Dayton Children’s Hospital Wallace B. Taggart, MD Award in 2016.
Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. A child neurologist, or pediatric neurologist, is a doctor who treats children who have problems with their nervous system. Problems in the nervous system can start in the brain, spine, nerves, or muscles. These can lead to problems such as seizures, headaches, or developmental delays.
