“Every day I get to do a job I love and make a positive impact on people’s lives” expressed the doctor.

UCSF’s Oculofacial Plastic and Orbital Surgery Clinic provides advanced specialty care to meet all of patients’ medical, surgical, and aesthetic needs in a state-of-the-art facility. Its expertise includes plastic and reconstructive surgery for the eye area or other parts of the face following injury, illness or cancer treatment. For patients with cosmetic concerns, facial rejuvenation using minimally invasive methods, including Botox injections and soft tissue fillers, as well as surgical procedures, such as forehead and midface lifting to address drooping and furrows, and surgical repair for heavy upper eyelids or lower eyelid bags are offered.

Berkeley Outpatient Center offers convenient primary care, specialty care, and lab and imaging services in the East Bay. A collaboration between John Muir Health and UCSF Health, the center brings together doctors in a range of specialties – from audiology to dermatology, primary care, orthopedics, and surgery.

Originally from San Diego, Dr. Grob obtained her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, where she also earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research, focused on the genetics of eye diseases. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, where she subsequently served as chief resident and director of the ocular trauma service.

Finally, she completed an intensive two-year fellowship in orbit and oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Irvine and Kaiser Permanente South Bay and Orange County. During fellowship, she received a Heed Fellowship Award from the Society of the Heed Fellows.

A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Women in Ophthalmology, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Known for her dedication and expertise in her field, Dr. Grob is a Co-Editor of Management of Open Globe Injuries, a book on surgical treatment of eye trauma. She has also written numerous peer-reviewed articles on topics related to oculoplastic surgery and genetic eye diseases.

As for her academic appointment, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF Medical Center.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Grob loves spending time with her family and her labradoodle, Bodhi. She also enjoys pilates, being outdoors, traveling and exploring new places.
