Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1976, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the New York Medical College in 1978.
In 2016, Dr. Mentakis attended his Master’s degree in Cardiology Management and Economics at the London School of Economics, attended his Master of Business Administration degree at Athens University in 2017 and completed his Masters degree-MBA- in the Uviversty of Mass.
