Get to know Family Physician Dr. Stephanie Macke, who serves patients in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A skilled family physician, Dr. Macke is in practice at Community Physician Network Family and Internal Medicine Care. She has strong interests in complementary and alternative medicine.

“I believe in a holistic approach to caring for my patients, which means I routinely evaluate my patient’s physiological, psychological and social health and well-being. I am loyal to the osteopathic philosophy of care, and I am passionate about outreach initiatives that improve the health and wellness of our community” expressed the doctor.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Macke attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, where she earned a degree in physiology and psychology through Lyman Briggs College in 2004. In 2008, she graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and later obtained her certification in Medical Acupuncture for Physicians from Helms Medical Institute. She served as co-chief resident during her last two years of family practice residency at Community Westview Hospital in Indianapolis.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in osteopathic medicine and family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine (AOBFM). The AOBFM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
