Ingrained with a passion to help people since the early years of grade school, Dr. Crawford is an anesthesiologist & pain management specialist in Texas. She understands the life-altering effects of chronic pain, and as such, has held positions in pain management that give her patients the confidence they need to know they will have superior treatment.

Among her academic appointments, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine of the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

When her desire to help others took root in her heart in elementary school, Dr. Crawford chose the path to become a doctor. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Meharry Medical College. She trained in anesthesiology at Johns HopkinsUniversity in Baltimore, Maryland, and at Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. She then completed fellowships in acute and chronic pain management at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Her extensive training in medicine, as well as her calming, reassuring demeanor, make her a physician that patients seek and request. She derives great satisfaction in providing a service for people who have been suffering from chronic pain.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Crawford is board-certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
