Linn County Anesthesiologists, P.C. is an all-physician group providing anesthesia services to Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. All of the physicians are board-certified or board-eligible with a goal to practice safe, modern anesthesiology. Anesthesia care is administered during surgery and for acute pain after surgery. Patient care is delivered at Mercy Medical Center, UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital, Surgery Center Cedar Rapids, and Mercy Surgery Center. Pain relief for childbirth is available at both Cedar Rapids hospitals. 

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Franklin Jr. earned his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 1996. He then went on to complete his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. 

Before long, the doctor became board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery.
