Dr. Melissa Fischer Novetsky is dedicated to providing exceptional, high quality and state of the art care in a relaxed atmosphere and goes to great lengths to ensure her patients are treated like family. She is proud to be a second generation dentist at Fischer Family Dentistry in Garden City, Michigan. Dr. Novetsky graduated Magna Cum Laude from both Michigan State University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she was top of her class and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She then joined the practice established by her father, Dr. Fred Fischer. With her leadership, Fischer Family Dentistry has stayed on the cutting edge of dental technology, and her commitment to comfortable treatment has attracted many loyal patients over the years. Today, she and her brother, Dr. Daniel Fischer are partners providing exceptional care to the Garden City community and surrounding neighborhoods continuing the legacy their father started over 40 years ago.
Dr. Novetsky places a strong priority in continuing education and postgraduate training. She is a Fastbraces Master Provider, a featured Top Doctor for OrthoFx, and helps improve lives by providing HealthyStart treatment to children addressing and correcting their Sleep Disordered Breathing. In 2006, she completed the F.O.R.C.E. International Orthodontic Internship offering traditional braces to her patients. Continuing education is a vital aspect of maintaining modern and technologically advanced skills. She regularly attends continuing education in advanced areas of dentistry such as cosmetic dentistry, endodontic therapy, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Novetsky is an active member of leading professional associations including the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Detroit District Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Dr. Novetsky volunteers her time every year going into schools and educating children on oral health. She loves giving back to the community.
In honor of her expertise, Dr. Novetsky was awarded “Hour Detroit’s 2021 list of Top Dentists” and has also recognized by “America’s Top Dentist” and “America’s Best Dentists” year after year.
On a more personal note, she and her husband, Eric, are proud parents to their daughters, Lily and Emma. They enjoy going on family bike rides, playing and listening to music, and going on road trips. Dr. Novetsky is also a huge Michigan State Spartans fan - Go Green!
