Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Karen L. Turgeon, who serves patients in the State of Ohio.

Dr. Turgeon is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in dermatology, dermatopathology, chemical peels, dermal fillers, Botox, the removal of malignant and premalignant skin growths, and sclerotherapy. She has been a member of Associates in Dermatology, Inc. since 1990. 

Associates in Dermatology, Inc. has offices throughout the state of Ohio, including Westlake, Middleburg Heights, and Lorain. The practice was established on the principle of providing the highest quality dermatological medical care to the community it served. The team of professionals working there provide all aspects of dermatologic care, including the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. They customize treatment plans, medications, and procedures for each patient to meet his or her particular needs.

Among her impressive professional background, Dr. Turgeon holds the appointments of Assistant Clinical Professor at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and Clinical Dermatology Instructor of Family Practice Residency at Fairview General Hospital – both of which are located in Cleveland, Ohio. She also holds hospital privileges at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, Metro Health Medical Center, Fairview General Hospital, St. John West Shore Hospital, and Southwest General Hospital.

Throughout her academic career, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and her medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, her residency in dermatology at MetroHealth Medical Center, and her fellowship in dermatopathology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

In addition to having authored numerous papers and articles on the recognition and treatment of skin disorders, Dr. Turgeon is board-certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is one of the 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Dedicated to changing the lives of their patients for the better, the doctor remains a member of numerous professional affiliations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Ohio Dermatological Association, the Cleveland Dermatological Society, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the Academy of Medicine Cleveland, the American Medical Association, and the International Society of Dermatopathology.
