Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Edward A. Harlamert, who serves patients in Lebanon, Indiana.

Dr. Harlamert is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with Witham Health Services in Lebanon, Indiana. With offices in Crawfordsville, Frankfort, Lebanon, Jamestown, Thorntown, Whitestown at Anson and Zionsville, Witham Health Services is proud to be a part of the growth and vitality going on throughout Boone County. Dr. Harlamert received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1983. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Indiana University Hospitals in Indianapolis in 1986, followed by his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky in 1989.

Dr. Harlamert is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Dr. Harlamert is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Fellowship is one of the most distinguished designations the College offers its members. It is the ultimate recognition of professional achievement.

Cardiology is a branch of internal medicine. Interventional cardiology, on the other hand, is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases. An interventional cardiologist, like Dr. Harlamert, diagnoses and treats cardiovascular diseases, as well as congenital (present at birth) and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting. Dr. Harlamert specializes in the treatment of coronary artery disease and heart failure.
