Having always wanted to be a doctor, Dr. Rupp obtained his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 2000. He then went on to perform his combined residency in internal medicine / pediatrics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston from 2000-2004, and his fellowship in clinical immunology & allergy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 2004-2006.
With a love for his profession, Dr. Rupp is board-certified in allergy & immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The ABAI establishes qualifications and examines physicians to become recognized specialists in allergy and immunology. There are only 3 board certified allergy & immunology specialists in all of Southern New Mexico.
Locally, Dr. Rupp is affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers, including Memorial Medical Center and MountainView Regional Medical Center.
Holding the highest standards of professional competence, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (FAAAAI) and has served as a regional governor over 11 state allergy societies. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (FACAAI) and has served as a member of the board of regents in this organization.
Allergy and immunology involves the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist / immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency disorders. Common allergic and immunologic diseases include food allergy, asthma, hives, nose allergies, eczema, and non-HIV immune deficiencies.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Rupp enjoys cooking, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
