Following her relocation to the United States, she completed the Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital (JHU/Sinai) Residency Program in Internal Medicine (2006-2009), followed by a rheumatology fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC (2009-2011).
Subsequent to her education, Dr. Szalasny received board certification in internal medicine and rheumatology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.
