As for his training, he completed his residencies in general surgery at Saddlebrook Hospital and Peninsula Hospital General Surgery in 1992 and 1995, respectively. This was followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at Deborah Heart & Lung Center in 1998.

A Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS), the doctor is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Heart Association, the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, the Missouri Osteopathic Medical Association, the Kansas Osteopathic Medical Association, the Nevada Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Clark County Medical Society.
