I can only tell you how we deal with it. I have the mother being the child in just for a look and see visit. We take the child back to a treatment room, and this him/ her up and down in the chair. We take the time to say hi, and then they leave. The child may be brought back as many times as needed, until, finally, he lets us lik in the mouth with a mirror, and it's sent home.
