Get to know Dentist Dr. Steven N. Kacel, who serves patients in Northbrook, Illinois.

Dr. Kacel has been practicing cosmetic and general dentistry, as well as urgent care services on the North Shore suburbs of Chicago for over 34 years. He is currently serving patients’ needs at his private dental practice in Northbrook, Illinois. There, he and his staff create a friendly, comfortable atmosphere and utilize state-of-the-art technology and processes in the industry. They are considerate and sensitive to each patient’s needs and strive to make the trip to the dentist a very positive experience.

Dr. Kacel has been an attending doctor and dental consultant for the University Health System at Highland Park Hospital for over 30 years. He has provided consultations for the emergency room, cancer ward, and psychology ward.

Dr. Kacel earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University Dental School. He has extensive training in diagnosis, treatment planning, and oral rehabilitation. Dr. Kacel has been regularly awarded for his excellence within the industry. He received the ‘Professional of the Year’ award in 2011, 2012, and 2013. 

Dr. Kacel is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International. Dr. Kacel is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. 

Dr. Kacel is a Strathmore Who’s Who Worldwide Lifetime Member. Receiving a lifetime membership on Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide list is an honor that demonstrates a dentist’s ability and recognition within the dental industry.

Dr. Kacel is a certified Invisalign® provider. Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that helps to straighten teeth without the use of the typical metal braces.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists, like Dr. Kacel, are responsible for diagnosing oral diseases, as well as promoting oral health and disease prevention. Additionally, they look for abnormalities within the mouth such as lumps, swelling or discoloration, and perform necessary diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat these abnormalities.
