Dr. Caloia is an osteopathic emergency physician at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where she also serves as core faculty for the EM Residency. 

Serving as Vice Chair of the National Clinical Governance Board and National Director of Clinical Education for US Acute Care Solutions, her other scholarly pursuits include serving as an MCEP Education committee member, the Vice Chair of the ACOEP BPEM committee, a reviewer for the Journal of Education and Teaching in Emergency Medicine and the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine, and as an AOBEM Oral Board Examiner. 

Educated in the United States, Dr. Caloia earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami, a Master of Public Health degree from Florida International University, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to perform her internship at Palmetto General Hospital and her residency at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center, where she was the chief resident.

Subsequent to her education, she attained board certification in emergency medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). The AOBEM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of acutely ill patients with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and the management of other life-threatening medical issues (emergency physicians).

Holding fellowship status, Dr. Caloia is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians & a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. 

Licensed to practice medicine in Michigan, she is affiliated with Lake Huron Medical Center and ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.
