Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Marsha F. Granese, who serves patients in Mission Viejo, California.

A devoted obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Granese is affiliated with Mission Heritage Mission Viejo – Obstetrics and Gynecology. She specializes in robotic gynecologic procedures.

Mission Heritage Mission Viejo is a not-for-profit combined 523-bed tertiary medical facility with campuses in Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach. It is south Orange County’s only regional trauma center and, through a unique partnership with CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital, is the only designated pediatric health care center in south Orange County.

Academically, Dr. Granese completed her undergraduate degree at University of California, Santa Barbara. She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, and went on to complete her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology from West Virginia University, Charleston Area Medical Center.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Granese is an active member of the Woman Physicians of Southern Orange County, and the American Medical Association.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Granese has been the recipient of various awards, including the Outstanding Clinical Teacher of the Year Award, Faculty Award for Superior Residency Performance, and Patients’ Choice Award (2018).

On a more personal note, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and going to the beach, traveling, cooking, running and Pilates. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
