Get to know Radiologist Dr. Sussan Sadeghi, who serves patients in Fairfax, Virginia.

A board-certified radiologist, Dr. Sadeghi is affiliated with Washington Radiology. She is a published author in the areas of ultrasound and biopsy research.

Since 1948, Washington Radiology has been an innovative leader in medical imaging care. While new technologies and highly-trained staff continue to provide the foundation for patients’ visits, it is the warmth and welcoming approach of their team that has allowed their organization to serve the DC metropolitan area for 70 years. Their 7 centers are conveniently located across the three regions, accessible to where patients live and work.

Academically, Dr. Sadeghi earned her medical degree at the Shaheed Beheshti School of Medicine in Tehran in 1992, followed by a three-year residency in diagnostic radiology which she finished in 1995. She practiced in universities and private settings in Iran for five years before moving to the United States to continue her training at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

There, she finished a one-year clinical fellowship in body imaging in 2001, followed by a one-year general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. In June 2007, she completed a four-year residency in diagnostic radiology, also at Mount Sinai. She joined Washington Radiology later that same year.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Sadeghi is an active member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Radiological Society of Iran.

Radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.
