Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Heidi A. Berdin, who serves patients in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. 

As a board-certified pulmonologist, Dr. Berdin has over three decades of experience in her field. She specializes in critical care medicine, internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and sleep medicine.

At present, she can be found on staff at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Havasu Regional Medical Center is a Joint Commission-accredited, Medicare-certified 171-bed hospital that offers a broad and comprehensive scope of services in major medical disciplines. Dr. Berdin earned her medical degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu, Philippines in 1990. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Howard University, followed by her fellowship in pulmonary disease at the same educational venue. She also completed an additional fellowship in critical care medicine at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

Following her education, she became board-certified in pulmonology, critical care, and sleep medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system, including the nose, pharynx, and throat.

Throughout her career, Dr. Berdin has earned a number of awards and recognitions, including the Patients’ Choice Award in 2017 and 2018 and Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2017 and 2018.
