Get to know Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Eric James Lake, who serves patients in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

As a board-certified and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, Dr. Lake’s clinical expertise lies in non-operative rehabilitation, sports concussion management, prolotherapy, regenerative medicine, osteopathic manipulation, and sports medicine. He is in practice with Premier Orthopaedics in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Premier Orthopaedics has been the official orthopaedic and physical therapy provider of the Philadelphia Union since the team’s founding, in 2010. The doctor’s career in medicine began in 2001, upon graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship, residency in family medicine, and fellowship in sports medicine at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where he received the Resident Physician of the Year Award (2004-2005). 

Dedicated to excellence, Dr. Lake is board-certified in sports medicine and family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

With a strong commitment to his field, he remains a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine. 

An interesting fact about Dr. Lake is that he is the team physician for Williamson College of Trades and Swarthmore College.
