Get to know Neurologist Dr. Asher Imam, who serves patients in Southlake, Texas.

Dr. Imam, a board-certified neurologist, has over 15 years of inpatient and outpatient experience, managing and treating a wide variety of acute or chronic neurological complaints and disorders. He is the Founder and President of Southlake Neurology and Neurophysiology Clinic, PLLC in Southlake, Texas.

Southlake Neurology and Neurophysiology Clinic, PLLC is a full service neurology clinic that provides comprehensive care for a wide variety of neurological disorders and provides comprehensive neuro-diagnostic modalities. “Our goal is to provide compassionate, outstanding, and up to date neurological care for you or your family member” as stated on their website. 

The Southlake Sleep Wellness Clinic is an affiliate of Southlake Neurology and Neurophysiology Clinic, PLLC, providing comprehensive evaluation and management of adult patients with sleep disorders. Diagnostic tests include polysomnogram (sleep study), CPAP titration, Multiple Sleep Latency Test, Maintenance of Wakefulness Test, and Home Sleep Apnea Test.

Licensed by the state of Texas, Dr. Imam serves as Chief of the Neuroscience Service Line at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine. He is also the Director of the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine Stroke Center of Excellence, where he oversees the stroke program, making sure that it meets quality measures to maintain Joint Commission certification.

As one of the few neurologists in the country who are quadruple-certified in subspecialties of neurology (clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, and vascular neurology), he is board-certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Imam earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas in 1995. He then went on to complete his internship in internal medicine, his residency in neurology, and his fellowship in clinical neurophysiology from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.

The doctor is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Neurophysiology Society, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Tarrant County Medical Society. 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
