In regards to her educational background, Dr. Dixie received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, graduating in 1985. She then went on to complete her residency in family medicine at the Rush University Medical Center/Copley Memorial Hospital in 1988.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

To boot, she is board-certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties that issues “certificates of special knowledge” in the specialty of preventive medicine.

Licensed to practice medicine in Illinois and Ohio, Dr. Dixie is affiliated with John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Provident Hospital of Cook County.
