Get to know more about Neurologist Dr. Bashar Mohsen, who serves patients in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Mohsen is a leading neurologist in South Florida who specializes in using neurology pain treatment. In 2020, he decided to join a partnership and start a new practice called WellCare Medical Group.

There, he looks forward to helping improve patients’ quality of life with a range of neurological treatments for brain, spinal cord, and nervous system conditions. His care includes extensive diagnostic capabilities, advanced treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery. 

Families from Aventura to Coral Springs are finding effective relief as Dr. Mohsen treats the brain for neurological conditions, including headaches, sleep disorders, stroke, seizures, multiple sclerosis, and other nervous system disorders related to the brain or spine. 

His areas of interest include vascular neurology, hospital-based neurology, neurological testing, and neuromuscular disorders. 

Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Mohsen graduated with his medical degree from Damascus University Faculty of Medicine in Syria. He then relocated to the United States to further his training.

It is there that he performed his internship in internal medicine at Westchester Medical Center in 2002, his residency in internal medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, his residency in neurology at Temple University Hospital in 2005, and his fellowship in neurophysiology/EMG/EEG at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center in St. Louis in 2006. He also participated in clinical trials in hematology and oncology at Brookdale University Hospital in New York.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, neuromuscular medicine, and vascular neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Dr. Mohsen has worked as a neurologist at several hospitals across the United States, most recently at Tenet Florida Physician Services at North Shore Medical Center in Miami, and previously at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Among his professional affiliations include membership status with the Advanced Neuroscience Network, the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Academy of Neurology, the Temple University Hospital Performance Improvement Committee, the American Headache Society, the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Medical Association, the AAN Ethics Section Committee, and the National Arab American Medical Association.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

An authority in his field, Dr. Mohsen has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including: Best Bedside Manner, North Shore Medical Center; Scholarship AAN 57th Annual Meeting, Miami; Best Fellow Presentation at SLUH; Press Ganey Score 98.1% and 95.9% for Clinic; 2012 Patient’s Choice Award; 2011 Compassionate Doctor Award; 2010 Patient’s Choice Award; and 2008 Physician Ambassador for Nursing Excellence at PCRMC.

On a more personal note, he is fluent in English and Arabic.
