A fellowship-trained cardiologist, Dr. Lombardo joined his father’s practice, Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists, in 1987.

The mission of Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists is to provide patients and the community with the best cardiovascular treatment and prevention in an efficient and compassionate manner. From 1973 until 1976, Dr. Lombardo graduated with his undergraduate degree from Tulane University. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1981.

Furthering his training, he performed his internship in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital in 1982, and his residency in general surgery at the University of Louisville in 1983. He also completed an additional residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School, Hermann Hospital in 1985, and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1987.

In Texas, Dr. Lombardo is affiliated with Beaumont Heart & Vascular Center, Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, and CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Hospital – St. Elizabeth.

Helping patients maintain a heart-healthy life, he has been board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He currently maintains board certification by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, (NBPAS).

On a professional level, Dr. Lombardo is an Associate of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography & Interventions.

Furthermore, he is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Texas Club of Cardiologists, and the Texas Medical Association.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart and circulatory system. Cardiologists assess, diagnose and treat a variety of conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias and congenital heart disease.

Happily married, Dr. Lombardo and his wife, Sally, live in Beaumont. They have five children. He is a devoted husband and father who enjoys traveling. He is also an avid runner who has participated in several marathons.
