Having grown up in Costa Mesa, California, Dr. Luong attended the University of California, Riverside. He graduated with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in both Computer Science and Mathematics in 2005.
Around the same time of finishing his degrees, a relative who was a dental student at New York University introduced him to the profession of dentistry. Curiosity was sparked—especially intriguing was the thought of being able to combine hand skills with problem solving along with working to care for people. This curiosity led Dr. Luong to pursue learning more information about dentistry as a profession; the more he understood, the more he fell in love with and was drawn to the profession.
Consequently, upon finishing his dual-degree bachelors program, Dr. Luong then took pre-dental classes at the same university. To further prepare for his dental education, he completed Master of Science degrees in Mathematics in 2006 and then Biology in 2010.
Next, he attended dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2015. He then practiced in the following arenas: private practice dentistry; public health community dentistry; and Indian health reservation dentistry.
Always desiring to give back to his country, Dr. Luong is serving as a Captain for the Army Dental Reserve. Through this diverse background, he has gained extensive experience in the areas of diagnosis, crowns, bridges, root canals, and oral surgery procedures. Additionally, he has an interest in aesthetics dentistry as well.
In ongoing fashion, he enhances his skills through programs of continuing education and seminars that will allow him to provide more in-house services such as implants, Botox, and orthodontics in the future.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Besides his passion for dentistry, Dr. Luong enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, gardening, and fishing. Most important, however, is that he and his wife, Tiffanie, love to spend time with their children, Eva, Caden and Ivan Luong.
