Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Richard M. Slusher, who serves patients in Junction City, Kansas.

A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Slusher is in practice at Flint Hills Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic, an affiliate of Geary Community Hospital, in Junction City, Kansas.

Throughout his academic career, he received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Wayne State University, and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Health Science College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his orthopedic training at Midwest University, he spent a year completing a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Cincinnati / Wellington Sport Medicine and Orthopedics, where he took care of high school athletes, Division I Collegiate athletes, as well as professional athletes.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

As an orthopedic surgeon in the United States Army, Dr. Slusher served as the primary surgeon for the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg North Carolina with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. While on duty, he took care of a wide variety of sports injuries which allowed soldiers to return to duty.
