Along with the treatment of immediate or chronic problems, he strives to integrate the doctrine of prevention in all of his treatment plans as a way to alleviate possible future difficulties.

At present, he sees patients at his private practice with locations throughout the state of New Jersey, including Little Silver, Freehold, and Edison. With specialization in minimally invasive sports medicine and joint replacement, he performs a variety of complex procedures in the upper and lower extremities, including rotator cuff surgery, knee ligament surgery, and the direct anterior total hip replacement.

Treating a full range of orthopaedic problems, the doctor is affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in the area, including Riverview Medical Center, Bayshore Community Hospital, Shrewsbury Surgical Center, Metropolitan Surgical Institute, and Monmouth Medical Center.

His acclaimed career in medicine began in 1999 after he earned his medical degree from the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. During that time, he also performed basic science research at the prestigious Whitehead Institute, an affiliate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He then went on to attain his Orthopaedic Surgery Certificate from Seton Hall University, where he served as Chief Resident at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. He assisted with team doctor coverage for several Seton Hall University athletic teams and local area high school football. 

Thereafter, he completed additional pediatric orthopaedic training at the famous Dupont Children’s Hospital in Delaware. For further subspecialty training, Dr. Lopez completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Institute of Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, Arizona. It was there that he gained additional experience in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, and NFL injury grievance exams.

In order to keep current on the newest advances in his field, the doctor is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
