Bringing Expertise and Leadership in Obstetrics and Gynecology to Fort Riley, Kansas

As a highly regarded board certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Julia R.G. Vonn Lintel Gaston, MD, FACOG, is making a significant impact on the healthcare landscape at Irwin Army Community Hospital. Serving as Deputy Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she provides stability in leadership between military department chiefs. 

Dr. Gaston’s clinical interests span a wide range of obstetric and gynecological specialties, including both low and high-risk obstetrics, general gynecology, and minimally-invasive surgery. Her dedication to advancing women’s health and well-being is evident in her commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients.

A distinguished alumna of the University of Kansas, Dr. Gaston earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology – Genetics, with a minor in Chemistry, in 2005. She continued her academic journey at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she obtained her Medical Degree in 2009. Following her medical education, she completed her residency with Aurora Health Care from July 2009 to June 2013, honing her skills and expertise in obstetrics and gynecology. 

In recognition of her outstanding achievements and dedication to her field, Dr. Gaston achieved board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2015. She is also a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), showcasing her commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and professional excellence.

Dr. Gaston’s exemplary service and commitment to excellence have been further recognized through prestigious accolades, including Civilian Service Commendation Medals in November 2022 and January 2021, as well as Achievement Medals for Civilian Service in October 2020 and February 2019.
